Trinity Logistics acquires Minnesota freight partner Granite Logistics

Trinity Logistics, a leading third-party logistics provider based in Seaford, Delaware, has recently announced the acquisition of Granite Logistics, a long-standing freight agent partner with offices in Sartell and Minneapolis, Minnesota. This strategic move brings approximately 135 team members with a wealth of experience totaling over 600 years into the Trinity Logistics family.

Granite Logistics, known for its specialization in flatbed, over-dimensional, and heavy haul freight, has served as the premier agent for Trinity for nearly 14 years. With the acquisition, Granite’s two Minnesota locations will now operate as Regional Service Centers for Trinity Logistics, expanding the company’s reach and service capabilities.

According to Trinity Logistics President Sarah Ruffcorn, the acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for both companies. She emphasized Granite’s strong industry knowledge and dedication to fostering strong relationships with shippers and carriers. The partnership is expected to bring about growth and innovation in the logistics industry.

Co-owners of Granite Logistics, Jeff Smiens, and Pat Lynch, see the transition as a natural evolution of their longstanding partnership with Trinity. They expressed their commitment to maintaining the same level of integrity, respect, and excellence in serving their customers and carriers. Smiens assured clients and carriers that the transition would not alter the familiar faces and relationships they have come to trust.

The operations at the newly acquired Regional Service Centers are set to continue without interruption, ensuring a seamless transition for all stakeholders involved. Trinity Logistics’ acquisition of Granite Logistics signifies a significant step forward in expanding its nationwide presence and offering people-centric freight solutions to its growing customer base.
