Trump Has All-Caps Freakout About 1 Of His Most Sensitive Topics
President Donald Trump recently boasted about his approval ratings, claiming that they are the highest they have ever been. Despite his confidence, most polls show that he is actually quite unpopular. In fact, he is currently near an all-time low in his approval rating and close to an all-time high in his disapproval rating.
While Trump has been very sensitive about his approval ratings and has even filed lawsuits over some polls, the reality is that he is deep in negative territory in most polls. For example, the latest New York Times polling average has him with an approval rating of just 38%, compared to 58% who disapprove, leaving him underwater by 20 percentage points.
On specific issues, such as his handling of the economy, Trump is also not faring well. A recent Fox News poll found that only 31% of voters approve of his economic policies, while 68% disapprove. Additionally, Trump has the dubious distinction of being the first president to ever hit 80% disapproval on gas prices.
Overall, Trump’s approval ratings are underwater in all five categories tracked by The Economist: inflation/prices, jobs and the economy, foreign policy, immigration, and crime. The same tracker also shows that Trump’s approval rating is underwater in all but four states.
Despite his claims of high approval ratings, the data tells a different story about President Trump’s popularity among the American public.
