Trump likely to name White House ballroom after himself, officials say
President Donald Trump is reportedly set to name the new $300 million White House ballroom after himself, according to senior administration officials. The ballroom is already being referred to as “The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom,” a name that is expected to stick, as per ABC News sources.
Known for branding his construction projects after himself, Trump has not publicly confirmed the name of the ballroom yet. However, it seems consistent with his past practices. When asked about the name by ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce, Trump simply smiled and said, “I won’t get into that now.”
The East Wing of the White House has been demolished to make room for Trump’s massive 90,000-square-foot ballroom, as revealed in new images released on Thursday. The project has received overwhelming support, with a White House official confirming that $350 million has been raised so far. Despite this, construction costs are estimated to be $300 million at present.
In response to questions about the additional $50 million raised, the official did not provide a clear answer. When questioned about his personal donation to the project, Trump mentioned that he plans to contribute “millions of dollars,” highlighting his commitment to supporting the White House financially.
The ongoing construction and demolition work for the new ballroom can be seen in recent images, showcasing the progress being made on this ambitious project. With Trump’s dedication to this endeavor, the White House is set to have a grand and luxurious ballroom that reflects the president’s vision for the future.
