Thanks to his iPhone’s “Call After Severe Crash” feature, emergency services were alerted to the accident, allowing the officers to arrive on the scene just as the car burst into flames. Despite the intense heat and flames, the officers did not hesitate to break the driver’s side window and extract Islam from the burning vehicle.
Described as a “Thanksgiving miracle” by the South Brunswick police, the rescue was truly a life-saving moment that defied the odds. Islam, who underwent surgery for injuries to his back and neck, was able to return home to his family, much to the relief of his grateful father, Naushad.
In a heartfelt letter to the officers, Naushad expressed his deep gratitude for their heroic actions that saved his son’s life. He acknowledged the officers’ everyday work of saving lives but emphasized the profound impact it had on his family.
Despite the severity of the crash, Islam is now recovering well and able to communicate with his loved ones. Naushad attributes his son’s survival to divine intervention, recognizing the miraculous circumstances that led to his son’s rescue.
