United Airlines resumes operations after brief nationwide mainline ground stop

United Airlines experienced a nationwide ground stop for its mainline flights following an emergency alarm at its Chicago operations center on Thursday night.

The company explained to Fox News Digital that a fire alarm triggered the evacuation of employees to a backup facility, resulting in a temporary nationwide ground stop for United aircraft.

After employees returned to the primary operations center, the ground stop was lifted.
