Wawa recalls 4 drink products over undeclared allergen
Wawa, a convenience store chain, is conducting a recall of certain company-branded drinks due to the presence of an undeclared milk allergen.
The recall includes 16-ounce bottles of Wawa Iced Tea Lemon, Wawa Iced Tea Diet Lemon, Wawa Diet Lemonade, and Wawa Fruit Punch, all produced by the Wawa Beverage Company.
According to Wawa, the affected products are no longer available for purchase and have been removed from stores. The recall was initiated after the company identified and rectified a temporary equipment issue that may have led to the inclusion of an undeclared milk allergen in the drinks.
Individuals with milk allergies are at risk of experiencing a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
Wawa has not received any reports of illnesses related to the recall at this time.
The company advises consumers who have purchased the affected items to discard them immediately and contact the company’s customer contact center via email or phone to request a refund in the form of a Wawa gift card.
