Wiz Khalifa Sentenced to 9 Months in Romanian Prison for Drug Possession
Rapper Wiz Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, has been sentenced to nine months in prison in Romania for drug possession. The 38-year-old artist was convicted of possession of dangerous drugs without the right for personal consumption. This sentence comes more than a year after he was charged with allegedly having 18 grams of cannabis following a performance at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinesti in July 2024.
Initially, Khalifa was issued an $830 fine for illegal possession of dangerous drugs by a lower court in Constanta County. However, prosecutors appealed the decision and sought a stricter punishment, leading to the nine-month prison sentence.
In a statement, prosecutors with Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) revealed that Khalifa was found in possession of cannabis during a performance at the music festival. They alleged that he consumed the drug on stage as well.
The rapper’s legal troubles in Romania coincided with a joyous occasion in his personal life. In the same month as the drug possession charges, Khalifa and his girlfriend Aimee Aguilar welcomed their first child together. Aguilar shared a TikTok video a week postpartum, discussing her post-labor experience and body changes.
Khalifa is also a father to son Sebastian, 12, whom he shares with his ex-wife Amber Rose. In a January 2024 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Khalifa humorously admitted to attending parent-teacher conferences for Sebastian while “stoned.” He emphasized the importance of being authentic and not conforming to societal expectations of parenthood.
The rapper’s unique approach to parenting and his run-in with Romanian authorities highlight the complexities of his personal and professional life. Despite facing legal challenges, Khalifa continues to navigate fatherhood and his career in the music industry. It remains to be seen how this latest development will impact his future endeavors. In the fast-paced world we live in today, it can be easy to overlook the importance of self-care. With busy schedules and endless to-do lists, taking time for oneself often falls to the wayside. One of the most important aspects of self-care is taking care of our mental health. This can involve practices such as meditation, journaling, therapy, or simply taking time to reflect and be mindful. In today’s fast-paced world, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed, so it is crucial to prioritize mental health and well-being.
Another important aspect of self-care is taking care of our physical health. This can involve eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and staying hydrated. Physical health is closely linked to mental health, so taking care of our bodies is essential for overall well-being.
Self-care also involves taking time for ourselves and doing things that bring us joy and relaxation. This can include activities such as reading a book, taking a bath, going for a walk in nature, or spending time with loved ones. It is important to make time for activities that recharge and rejuvenate us, as this helps to prevent burnout and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
In conclusion, self-care is crucial for maintaining overall well-being and happiness. By prioritizing our mental, emotional, and physical health, we can lead happier and more fulfilling lives. It is important to make time for self-care activities and to prioritize our own well-being, as this ultimately benefits not only ourselves but those around us as well. So, take some time for yourself today and practice self-care – your mind, body, and spirit will thank you.
