LA Festival for Emmy FYC Contenders

Netflix is shaking things up this year by forgoing its traditional FYSEE: LA pop-up destination in favor of a citywide festival for its annual Emmys showcase. Comedian John Mulaney announced the exciting news, revealing that popular Netflix contenders like “Adolescence,” “Black Mirror,” and “The Four Seasons” will take center stage during the two-week event running from May 17 to June 2.
The festival will span multiple theaters across town, offering a mix of official TV Academy FYC panels and standalone events. A diverse lineup of shows will be featured, including “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney,” “The Diplomat,” “A Man on the Inside,” “Big Mouth,” and “Squid Game,” among others. In addition, Netflix will shine a spotlight on its documentaries like “Will & Harper” and “Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer.”
A star-studded roster is confirmed to make appearances at the Emmy FYC events, with names like Kristen Bell, Simone Biles, Ted Danson, Tina Fey, and Jamie Foxx set to grace the stage. Special programming for the festival will be in collaboration with American Cinematheque and the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, with career retrospectives honoring Adam Brody, Kate Hudson, and Ted Danson.
Netflix will also host multi-title performances, including the “Strong Black Contenders” event and a night of comedy as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Festival. Standup acts from Jamie Foxx, Mike Birbiglia, and Sarah Silverman are sure to delight audiences on Thursday, May 29.
Key dates for major Netflix FYC events include “Black Mirror” on May 17 at the Television Academy Saban Media Center Wolf Theater, and “Adolescence” on May 27 at the Wolf Theatre in the Saban Media Center. The festival will culminate on June 2 with “Simone Biles Rising” at the Hollywood Athletic Club.
