India says it intercepted ‘drones and missiles’ fired by Pakistan

India and Pakistan have once again found themselves at odds, with India claiming to have intercepted drones and missiles fired by Pakistan at military targets in northern and western India. The overnight attack, according to India, was an attempt by Pakistan to escalate the conflict between the two countries. In response, India targeted Pakistani sites, including an air defense system in Lahore, which it claimed to have destroyed.

The Indian Ministry of Defense released a statement saying, “Today morning Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. Indian response has been in the same domain with same intensity as Pakistan.”

This latest escalation comes after India launched aerial attacks on Pakistan following a deadly terror attack in the disputed Kashmir region. The Pahalgam incident, which left 26 people dead in Indian-held Kashmir, was blamed on Pakistan by India, a claim that Pakistan has denied.

At least 16 people have been reported killed in India as a result of the recent attacks. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with his secretaries to discuss national preparedness, while Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised his country’s military for their actions in recent days, stating, “I salute the heads of all three armed forces and every brave soldier. The 240 million people of Pakistan are proud of their armed forces.”

As this situation continues to unfold, it is important to stay informed and watch for updates as they become available.
