Edgewater nightclub murder victims identified as rappers Munna Duke and YoungginFromDaJetz

The tragic shooting that took place in Edgewater early Saturday morning claimed the lives of Rachaun “Munna Duke” Vance, 31, and Derrell “YoungginFromDaJetz” Givens, 28. The two men, both well-known in their community, were targeted by at least two gunmen as they left Porkchop, a late-night bar and restaurant located at 6331 North Broadway.
Rachaun Vance, a reputed leader of the O Block street gang, had recently faced legal troubles but had managed to have a Class X armed habitual criminal gun case against him dropped just a month prior to his untimely death. His close friend and fellow rapper, Derrell Givens, was also a well-respected figure in the local music scene.
The gunmen made a quick escape in a stolen Infinity Q50, which was later found abandoned and set on fire in the 600 block of East 134th Place. The investigation is ongoing, but as of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, FatFat Banks, the mother of Vance’s child, took to Instagram to express her grief and disbelief at the sudden loss of her loved one. She shared heartfelt memories and vowed to keep his memory alive for their son.
The city has taken action against Porkchop, forcing it to close while the owners work on addressing safety and operational concerns raised by the Chicago Police Department and the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection. This is not the first time the venue has faced closure, as it previously had to address violations and make changes to its business model in 2023.
As the community mourns the loss of two beloved individuals, it is essential to remember the impact they had on those around them. The investigation into the shooting continues, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice.
