A terrifying incident unfolded in the bustling streets of University Heights, Bronx, as a 32-year-old woman narrowly escaped a fatal gunshot to the back of her head in broad daylight. The victim, who remains unidentified, was walking home around 9 a.m. on a Friday morning when a hooded assailant approached her from behind with a gun in hand.

Without uttering a word, the gunman pointed the weapon directly at the unsuspecting woman. In a split-second reaction, she instinctively turned her head away, narrowly avoiding the single round that was fired at her. The bullet missed her by mere centimeters, leaving her shaken but miraculously unharmed.


The victim was walking home around 9 a.m. Friday when the unidentified hooded gunman approached her from behind on a University Heights street and brazenly pointed the weapon without saying a word, authorities said.

Although the woman managed to evade the gunshot, she suffered injuries from the fall as she hit her head on the ground. The incident, classified as an attempted murder, took place on West 183rd Street near Davidson Avenue, sparking fear and concern among residents of the neighborhood.

Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the case, treating it as a targeted attack on the victim by an unknown assailant. The victim has no prior connection to the shooter, adding a sense of randomness and danger to the incident.

In efforts to apprehend the perpetrator, authorities have released a photo of the suspect, described as a man with a dark complexion, approximately 6 feet tall, and weighing around 200 pounds. He was captured on camera wearing all black, with the hood of his jacket concealing his identity as he walked along the sidewalk.
