Tamar Braxton Takes Jab at Loni Love Over The Real Casting

Tamar Braxton Reflects on Her Time on “The Real”

Tamar Braxton recently shared her thoughts on how she wished things had gone differently when she first launched The Real talk show. During an appearance on The NeNe Leakes Show, Braxton responded to NeNe Leakes’ claim that she was initially chosen to cohost the show before Loni Love took her place.

“I wish they would have told me,” Braxton, 48, expressed. “I wouldn’t have cast big back Cadillac. We’d probably be in our 10th season by now. Thanks. Ain’t that dumb?”

Although Braxton clarified that her comments were not meant as shade, the laughter on set and Leakes’ reaction of immediately sipping a drink indicated that the statement raised some eyebrows.

Leakes, 57, explained that she was asked to be on The Real during the casting process, but ultimately decided not to join the show due to her commitments on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Braxton eventually took Leakes’ place as a cohost on the show.

The original lineup of The Real included Tamera Mowry, Jeannie Mai, Adrienne Houghton, Braxton, and Love. However, in May 2016, it was announced that Braxton would be leaving the show after two seasons to focus on her solo career.

The news of Braxton’s departure came as a surprise to her cohosts, with Love stating on Facebook that there was no indication that Braxton would be let go. Braxton later hinted at a less amicable exit, mentioning feeling betrayed by someone she had trusted.

Despite Braxton’s departure, The Real continued until June 2022, with Houghton, Mai, and Love still cohosting the show alongside Garcelle Beauvais. The series finale marked the end of an era for the popular talk show.

As the conversation around Braxton’s time on The Real continues, fans and viewers are left wondering about the dynamics behind the scenes. It remains to be seen how Love and other involved parties will respond to Braxton’s recent comments on the show.
