‘Boston Blue’ Casts Ernie Hudson

Ernie Hudson Joins the Cast of CBS Spinoff “Boston Blue”
Ernie Hudson has officially joined the cast of CBS’ highly anticipated spinoff series, “Boston Blue.” The show, which is a spinoff of the long-running hit series “Blue Bloods,” will see Hudson take on the role of Reverend Peters, the patriarch of a prominent law enforcement family in Boston.
In the series, Hudson’s character, Reverend Peters, is described as a renowned pastor of a historic Baptist church in Boston. He is portrayed as an open-minded and welcoming man who is comfortable with all traditions. Reverend Peters is not only the father of Mae Silver, Boston’s district attorney, but also the grandfather of detective Lena Silver, superintendent Ashley Silver, and rookie patrol cop Isaac Silver.
“Boston Blue” stars Donnie Wahlberg as his “Blue Bloods” character, detective Danny Reagan, who relocates to Boston and is partnered with detective Lena Silver, played by Sonequa Martin-Green. The show will explore the dynamic between the members of the Silver family as they navigate their roles in law enforcement and their personal lives.
The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with JBTV, with Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis serving as showrunners. Executive producers include Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg. Paramount Global Content Distribution will handle the distribution of the show.
During a recent CBS press briefing in Los Angeles, Martin-Green expressed her excitement about the Silver family, stating, “We have all loved the Reagans for so long, and I feel that we’ll love the Silvers too.” Wahlberg also shared his thoughts, emphasizing the importance of showcasing different law enforcement families and their stories.
With the addition of Ernie Hudson to the cast and the promising premise of exploring a new family dynamic within the law enforcement world, “Boston Blue” is shaping up to be a must-watch series for fans of police procedurals. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting spinoff as it prepares to make its debut on CBS.
