Park Bo-young Talks Playing Twins in Netflix’s ‘Our Unwritten Seoul’

Park Bo-young is set to challenge herself like never before in the upcoming Korean series “Our Unwritten Seoul” on Netflix. In this romantic drama, she will be tackling the complex role of twin sisters who swap identities, portraying four distinct personas in what may be her most demanding role yet.

The series follows twin sisters Yu Mi-ji and Yu Mi-rae, who are identical in appearance but polar opposites in personality. When fate intervenes, the sisters find themselves swapping identities, leading to a journey of self-discovery and love.

Park Bo-young describes the role as a once-in-a-lifetime challenge and a huge opportunity. She felt compelled to take on this unique role, knowing that such chances may not come around again. Playing both Mi-ji and Mi-rae presented technical challenges, as she had to embody two different characters and predict how each would act in various situations.

Director Park Shin-woo employed creative solutions to help Park Bo-young navigate the dual role, including using a stand-in actor to recreate one character’s behavior while she performed as the other. The production also utilized special effects to create scenes where Park Bo-young had to interact with herself.

The series also features Park Jin-young as Lee Ho-su, a successful lawyer with unresolved trauma, and Ryu Kyung-soo as Han Se-jin, a former chief investment officer running his grandfather’s strawberry farm. The cast members each bring a unique dynamic to the story, adding depth to the characters and their relationships.

“Our Unwritten Seoul” is a project that explores various facets of humanity through Park Bo-young’s portrayal of the twin sisters. Director Park Shin-woo focused on authenticity and emotion, allowing the actors to shine in their roles without worrying about technical details.

As the series prepares to launch on Netflix, the cast hopes that viewers will find comfort and emotional connection in the story. Park Bo-young and her co-stars believe that the show has the potential to resonate with audiences and provide a source of courage and healing for those going through difficult times.

“Our Unwritten Seoul” premieres on May 24 on Netflix, offering a unique and engaging story that promises to captivate viewers with its complex characters and heartfelt narrative.
