One of Four Escaped ICE Detainees Apprehended in Passaic
Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez, one of the detainees who escaped from an ICE detention center in New Jersey, was captured on Saturday morning in Passaic by FBI and ICE agents, according to law enforcement sources.
Sandoval-Lopez, who was arrested twice in the last year for unlawful possession of a handgun and aggravated assault, was among the four detainees who managed to flee from Delaney Hall on June 12. The escape occurred after approximately 50 inmates staged a revolt and pushed down a wall of a dormitory room inside the detention center.
Authorities had offered a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the capture of the fugitives. While Sandoval-Lopez has been apprehended, the search continues for the remaining three escapees – Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada, Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes, and Andres Pineda-Mogollon.

The escape of the detainees raised concerns about the security measures at the detention center and the safety of the surrounding community. The authorities are working diligently to locate and detain the remaining fugitives to prevent any further incidents.
