Matthew Perry’s Doctor to Plead Guilty to Supplying Ketamine

Matthew Perry’s doctor, Salvador Plasencia, has made the decision to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine to the late “Friends” star. Perry tragically passed away in October 2023 due to an overdose of the drug.

In the plea agreement, Plasencia admits to providing ketamine to Perry without a valid medical reason in the weeks leading up to his untimely death. The agreement outlines a potential prison sentence ranging from 15 to 21 months, with the final decision ultimately resting with the judge.

The 54-year-old actor was discovered deceased in his hot tub at his residence in the Pacific Palisades, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his legion of fans.

Federal authorities had previously charged Plasencia and four others in connection to Perry’s passing. In a damning text message to another physician, Plasencia allegedly discussed the financial gain from the situation, showcasing a callous disregard for Perry’s well-being.

Additionally, Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” faces charges of possessing and distributing methamphetamine and ketamine from a location in North Hollywood. Sangha is slated to stand trial in August for her alleged involvement in the illicit drug trade.

Three other individuals named Erik Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Mark Chavez have opted to plead guilty to a single count of conspiring to supply ketamine. Authorities assert that Plasencia attempted to deceive investigators by fabricating a false “treatment plan” for Perry to justify the ketamine prescriptions.

The developments in the case shed light on the dangers of substance abuse and the legal repercussions that can follow. The entertainment world mourns the loss of Matthew Perry while grappling with the harsh reality of addiction and its devastating consequences.
