Telegram founder and billionaire Pavel Durov plans to leave fortune to his 100-plus children
Pavel Durov, the mastermind behind the popular messaging app Telegram, recently revealed in an interview with French magazine Le Point that he has fathered over 100 children. These children will eventually inherit his massive multi-billion-dollar fortune, but not until 30 years from now. With a net worth of $13.9 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Durov’s children are set to inherit a substantial amount each.
In an effort to ensure his children lead fulfilling lives, Durov expressed his desire for them to live normally, without solely relying on their inheritance. He wants them to learn to trust themselves, be self-sufficient, and have the ability to create without being dependent on their bank accounts. With six biological children from three different partners and over 100 children conceived through sperm donations, Durov emphasized that all his children will be treated equally and have the same rights.
Durov, who is known for his disciplined lifestyle, shared that he follows a strict daily workout routine that includes 300 push-ups and 300 squats. He abstains from alcohol, coffee, tea, sugar, and smoking, prioritizing his health and fitness.
Despite his success, Durov has faced legal challenges, with French authorities accusing Telegram of being used for criminal activities such as the dissemination of child sexual abuse material and drug trafficking. Durov vehemently denies these allegations, stating that just because criminals use Telegram does not make him or the platform responsible for their actions.
