Poorna Jagannathan, Gary Carr Join Apple’s Lars Kepler Joona Linna Show

Apple TV+ has announced the exciting casting of Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr in the upcoming adaptation of Lars Keppler’s “Joona Linna” book series. The series follows the story of Jonah Lynn, portrayed by Liev Schreiber, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective seeking a quiet life in a small town in Western Pennsylvania. However, his peaceful existence is threatened by the diabolically cunning serial killer Jurek Walter, played by Stephen Graham. As Jonah’s town and family come under attack, he must protect everything he holds dear, even if it means sending his adopted daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer (Zazie Beetz), to confront Jurek.

Carr will take on the role of Nathan, a forensic investigator devoted to Jonah but struggling with his feelings for Saga. Jagannathan will play Quinn, an FBI agent from D.C. who relies on Jonah to navigate the insular small town while dealing with personal challenges.

The “Joona Linna” series, originally written in Swedish by Lars Kepler, is a gripping tale that has captivated readers since its debut in 2009. The series, which now consists of 10 books with the latest released in 2024, explores the thrilling world of crime and suspense.

In addition to the talented cast members mentioned, including Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, and Chrissy Metz, Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin are leading the adaptation as showrunners. Tim Van Patten will direct the first two episodes, with a stellar lineup of executive producers, including the Ahndorils, Schreiber, Beetz, Oystein Karlsen, and more.

Production of the series, set to begin this summer in Pittsburgh, is a collaboration between A+E Studios and Range Studios. The team is dedicated to bringing the captivating world of “Joona Linna” to life on screen, promising viewers a thrilling and unforgettable experience.
