Florida ‘predator’ Esther Torres given probation for pepper-spraying rich men and stealing luxury watches off their wrists
A Florida woman, Esther Torres, managed to avoid jail time after pleading guilty to a series of crimes involving luring wealthy men to hotels, pepper-spraying them, and stealing their luxury watches. The 20-year-old was sentenced to five years of probation for her actions, which included robbing one man of a Hugo Boss watch and another of a Rolex Submariner worth $22,000 in late March.
The first incident took place at the Breakwater Hotel in Miami Beach, where Torres pepper-sprayed a victim and stole his watch, along with cash, Euros, and credit cards. The second incident occurred at the Fontainebleau Hotel, where she used mace on another man, leaving him temporarily blind before taking his Rolex watch.
Surveillance footage from both hotels captured Torres leaving the scenes after the robberies, leading authorities to identify her as the suspect. Mitch Novick, the owner of the Sherbrooke Hotel, assisted in providing surveillance footage to aid in the investigation.
Torres was eventually arrested in May during a traffic stop, where she was found to have a child in her car. Initially charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, she was later granted a recognizance bond in June and sentenced to probation.
Despite the severity of her crimes, Torres managed to avoid jail time, sparking controversy and outrage among those following the case. The leniency of her sentence has raised questions about the justice system’s handling of such criminal behavior.
Overall, Torres’ case serves as a reminder of the dangers that can arise from online interactions and the importance of staying vigilant and cautious in unfamiliar situations.
