Frank & Roze opening in former D-Bar space in Uptown Denver
After five and a half years, Brenda Godfrey is finally bringing her vision to life with the expansion of Frank & Roze.
Originally opening the coffee shop’s first location in 2019, the former Starbucks executive always had plans for more. Recently, she secured a 10-year lease for a second location in Uptown, set to open just in time for the holidays.
The new 4,100 square foot space at the corner of Pennsylvania Street and 19th Avenue, once home to D-Bar, will offer an expanded menu of breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, sandwiches, and salads. Renowned local chef Tom Coohill, owner of Coohills downtown, is behind the menu, adding his touch to the offerings.
While the original location serves wine and beer, the Uptown spot will have a full liquor license, complete with an 18-seat bar offering brunch favorites like Eggs Benedict and Bloody Marys.
The design of the new location will feature higher-end fabrics for a luxurious atmosphere, with plants still playing a prominent role. The space will cater to customers looking for a comfortable spot to work in the morning and socialize with friends in the afternoon.
Godfrey, with her experience in Starbucks, aimed to create a scalable café with Frank & Roze. Despite challenges brought on by the pandemic, the business saw steady growth over its first five years, allowing for this expansion.
While Godfrey has plans for further expansion in the future, her focus now is on ensuring the success of the new Uptown location while maintaining the quality of the original spot.
