Alvin Bragg hates citizens who defend themselves
The recent acquittal of CVS clerk Scotty Enoe by a Manhattan jury is a victory for common sense and justice. Enoe was charged with manslaughter for defending himself and his colleagues against a violent serial shoplifter, but the jury swiftly cleared him of all charges.
The incident in question involved Charles Brito, who launched a brutal attack on Enoe from behind. Fearing for his life, Enoe used a small folding knife to defend himself, ultimately causing Brito’s death. Enoe’s actions were clearly a case of self-defense, yet Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg chose to pursue charges against him.
This is not an isolated incident. Bragg has a track record of charging individuals who act in self-defense against violent attackers. This misguided approach sends the wrong message to criminals and law-abiding citizens alike. It suggests that criminals have free rein to commit crimes while ordinary citizens are penalized for defending themselves.
Cases like Enoe’s highlight the urgent need for a change in leadership. Alvin Bragg’s leniency towards criminals and harsh treatment of law-abiding citizens is unacceptable. It is time for voters to hold him accountable and ensure that he is replaced with a district attorney who prioritizes public safety and common sense.
The Enoe acquittal should serve as a wake-up call for the residents of Manhattan. By voting out Alvin Bragg and electing a district attorney who upholds the values of justice and safety, we can make our city a safer place for all. It is crucial that we take action to protect those who defend themselves and their communities from harm.
