House Democrats seek ‘birthday book’ from Epstein estate

House Democrats have formally requested a copy of the controversial “birthday book” allegedly compiled for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday. The book reportedly contains a “bawdy” letter from former President Donald Trump. Rep. Ro Khanna and House Oversight Ranking Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia made the request in a letter to representatives of Epstein’s estate, with the hope of obtaining the book by August 10th.

The letter stated that the book, compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003, is relevant to ongoing congressional oversight of the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein investigation. It also raises questions about the Trump administration’s decision to release only a few documents from its Epstein files while withholding others.

A prominent lawyer representing many of Epstein’s victims revealed in a recent TV interview that the estate is in possession of the book. Given the upcoming subpoena of Maxwell for a deposition, the Democratic lawmakers argue that the committee should be allowed to review the book’s contents before interviewing her.

The letter comes on the heels of reports that Trump sent Epstein a letter for his 50th birthday, which was included in the book containing letters from various Epstein associates. Trump has vehemently denied the existence of the letter and filed a defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal, which first reported on its alleged contents.

Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking and other charges, recently met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche for two days under limited immunity. Blanche stated that President Trump has instructed them to release all credible evidence and that the FBI and DOJ are willing to listen to any information Maxwell may have about crimes committed against victims.

The controversy surrounding Epstein, Maxwell, and their associates continues to unfold, with lawmakers and law enforcement officials working to uncover the truth behind the alleged crimes and cover-ups.
