Airplane Passengers Evacuate Plane After It Catches Fire in Denver, Video

American Airlines passengers experienced a terrifying ordeal when they were forced to evacuate a plane on the tarmac at Denver International Airport. The incident occurred when the landing gear of American Airlines Flight 3023, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, caught fire just before takeoff to Miami.

Videos captured the chaotic scene as passengers and crew members slid down the inflatable slide onto the ground. Some managed to disembark gracefully, while others stumbled in the distressing environment created by the smoke and flames engulfing the plane’s tire.

One particularly harrowing moment was captured on video, showing a man holding his child and suitcase as he tried to run off the plane. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell hard to the ground, highlighting the panic and urgency of the evacuation.

Despite the frightening situation, airport officials confirmed that all 179 individuals onboard, including 173 passengers and 6 crew members, safely evacuated the aircraft. Five people received treatment at the scene, with only one individual requiring hospitalization for further care.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently investigating the cause of the landing gear incident that led to the fire. CBS News reported that the FAA attributed the issue to a “possible landing gear incident.” American Airlines has not yet provided a statement regarding the incident.

The images and videos circulating on social media and news outlets serve as a reminder of the importance of safety protocols and the swift actions of passengers and crew during emergencies. While it’s a relief that everyone made it out safely, it’s understandable that they may not be eager to board another flight to Florida anytime soon.

As authorities continue to investigate the incident, passengers and aviation enthusiasts alike will be looking for answers and reassurance that such incidents are rare and thoroughly addressed to prevent future occurrences.
