Tom Hanks Tribute To Late Apollo 13 NASA Astronaut Jim Lovell

Tom Hanks is bidding farewell to the late Apollo 13 astronaut James Lovell… whom Tom famously portrayed on the silver screen.

In the 1995 film “Apollo 13,” Tom portrays Lovell, who passed away at the age of 97 on Thursday.

Tom is paying tribute to Lovell in a heartfelt message on social media, stating … “There are individuals who dare, dream, and lead others to places we wouldn’t venture to on our own. Jim Lovell, who ventured farther into space and for longer periods than any other human on our planet, embodied that spirit.”

Hanks continues … “His numerous journeys around Earth and close to the moon were driven not by material gain or fame, but by the intrinsic value of such challenges that enrich the human experience — and who better than Jim Lovell to undertake those odysseys.”
