Pixel 10 Might get a Big Charging Upgrade (Qi2 Aside)
The Pixel 10 phones are on the verge of being officially unveiled by Google, but a recent leak hints at a significant upgrade in terms of charging speed. While previous leaks have revealed that the Pixel 10 phones will feature Qi2 wireless charging, the latest leak suggests a notable improvement in wired charging as well.
Retailers like PC Canada have accidentally disclosed some of the new accessories that will be available for the Pixel 10 phones, including a new ‘Google 67W Dual Port Power Adapter’ priced at $79. This hints at a potential 30W upgrade in charging speed from the current 37W offered by the Pixel 9 phones via USB-C.
The current Google own-brand charger offers 45W, which is faster than the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s 37W. While it’s unlikely that the Pixel 10 phones will reach the full 67W capacity, an upgrade to 45W is certainly feasible, aligning with the charging speed of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It’s important to note that the new charger features two ports, allowing the speed to be divided between both ports for simultaneous charging of two devices. This enhancement in charging speed, along with the introduction of Qi2 wireless charging and upcoming ‘Pixelsnap’ accessories, such as a possible Pixel Stand 3, adds to the excitement surrounding the Pixel 10 phones.
While wireless charging and new accessories may steal the spotlight, faster wired charging speeds are a significant improvement, especially considering Google and Samsung have lagged behind competitors in this area. All the final details will be revealed at the upcoming Made by Google event on Wednesday. Stay tuned for more updates on Pixel coverage.
