Thomas Davis‘ estranged wife, Kelly Davis, was arrested earlier this week after she allegedly attacked a woman for allegedly being involved with the former NFL player.
An attorney for Kelly has denied the allegations, calling them “false,” according to TMZ Sports.
Court documents revealed that Laura Watterson, a chiropractor, accused Kelly of physically assaulting her in Charlotte, N.C. on Aug. 26, allegedly due to suspicions of an affair with Thomas Davis.
According to the documents, Kelly confronted Watterson at her office, resulting in a physical altercation where Kelly reportedly struck Watterson multiple times.
Watterson recounted in the documents, “As I tried to guide her out the door of my office, she hit me and knocked my glasses off then hit me again on the other side of the head.”
An arrest warrant was issued for Kelly on Aug. 29, and she was taken into custody on Sept. 3, as per jail records.
Kelly is facing one count of misdemeanor assault and battery. Her attorney, James J. Exum, has expressed confidence in her innocence and plans to contest the allegations in court.
Kelly and Thomas Davis were married in 2008 but separated in 2024. In a civil case, Kelly accused Thomas of infidelity, claiming he had relationships with multiple other women during their marriage.
Thomas Davis had a successful NFL career, notably with the Carolina Panthers, where he earned Pro Bowl honors and achieved over 1,000 tackles. He also played for the Chargers and the Commanders.
Thomas and Kelly have two children, including their son Thomas Davis Jr., a talented high school linebacker committed to Notre Dame.
