2 men arrested for allegedly planting, lighting bomb under Utah news media vehicle

A bomb scare in Utah has led to the arrest of two men who allegedly planted an explosive device underneath a news van and attempted to ignite it. The incident took place in Magna, Utah, less than an hour away from the college where conservative pundit Charlie Kirk was recently assassinated.

Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahme Nasir, 31, were taken into custody after authorities discovered the incendiary device hidden under a news media vehicle parked near a occupied building. Fortunately, the bomb malfunctioned and did not detonate.

The FBI took over the investigation due to the serious nature of the threat, and within two days, the suspects were identified as the Nasir brothers. A search of their residence yielded more hoax weapons of mass destruction, illegal drugs, and firearms that the men were not allowed to possess due to their criminal history.

Despite claiming that the weapons were real, the devices were ultimately determined to be fake. Adeeb has been charged with multiple offenses, including weapon of mass destruction and threat of terrorism. He is currently being held without bail, while Adil has not yet been charged.

The exact relationship between the two men is unclear, but they were residing together in the same home. The quick response of law enforcement prevented any harm from coming to the public, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
