Day of the Jackal Season 2 Finds New Lead Writer in David Harrower
The highly acclaimed TV spy series “Day of the Jackal” is gearing up for its second season with a new lead writer at the helm. Ronan Bennett, the creator of the show, will be stepping back from his writing duties due to other commitments but will continue to serve as an executive producer. Taking over as the new lead writer is David Harrower, known for his work on the critically acclaimed drama “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth.”
In a recent interview with Variety, Carnival CEO Gareth Neame revealed that the upcoming season of “Day of the Jackal” will continue to explore the dynamic between the hunter and the hunted, while incorporating elements from Frederick Forsyth’s original novel that were not utilized in the first season. Neame expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, promising viewers another thrilling and action-packed experience.
Aside from “Day of the Jackal,” Ronan Bennett has been busy working on other projects, including the Paramount+ series “MobLand” and the upcoming Channel 4 drama “Army of Shadows.” Starring Eddie Redmayne as the titular hitman and Lashana Lynch as an MI6 agent, “Day of the Jackal” was a massive success for both Sky and Peacock, becoming the biggest Original series for Sky and the most-watched new original drama series for Peacock.
