“Running Point” Season 2 Adds Eight New Recurring Guest Stars

The popular Netflix basketball comedy “Running Point” is gearing up for its highly anticipated second season by adding eight new recurring guest stars to its talented cast. Joining the show are Robert Townsend, Ken Marino, Tommy Dewey, Richa Moorjani, Jake Picking, Blake Anderson, Duby Maduegbunam, and Aliyah Turner.

Robert Townsend will play “Norm Stinson,” a seasoned basketball coach with a knack for bringing out the best in his teams but struggles with effective communication. Ken Marino takes on the role of “Al Fleischman,” the self-proclaimed “toilet king of Orange County” who is determined to score better courtside seats at Los Angeles Waves games. Tommy Dewey portrays “Magnus,” the general manager of the Toronto Trappers, while Richa Moorjani stars as “Aruna,” the blunt and resourceful star accountant for the Los Angeles Waves.

Jake Picking joins the cast as “Tommy White,” the charming new star point guard for the Los Angeles Waves. Blake Anderson plays “Leroy,” Cam’s unpredictable sober companion, while Duby Maduegbunam takes on the role of “Benson,” the newest addition to the Los Angeles Waves basketball team. Aliyah Turner rounds out the new additions as “Zoé Debay,” a former child star on the brink of Hollywood stardom.

In addition to the exciting new cast members, Justin Theroux and Uche Agada have been promoted to series regulars for Season 2. They will join returning stars Kate Hudson, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, and Toby Sandeman. The show has also confirmed the return of recurring guest stars Max Greenfield, Jay Ellis, Roberto Sanchez, Jon Glaser, Scott Evans, Rob Huebel, Marissa Reyes, and Justin Hurtt-Dunkley.

“Running Point” debuted on Netflix to critical acclaim and quickly earned a second season renewal. The series follows Isla Gordon (played by Kate Hudson), who steps up as president of the Los Angeles Waves basketball franchise after a scandal rocks her family business. As she navigates the challenges of leadership in the sports world, Isla must prove her worth to her skeptical brothers and the larger sports community.

The show is created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, with Stassen serving as showrunner. Hudson also executive produces and stars in the series. “Running Point” is produced by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television.
