The 911 audio recordings from the tragic Iryna Zarutska stabbing incident on a North Carolina train depict the immediate aftermath of the brutal attack, with callers expressing shock and distress over the grim situation.
Obtained by TMZ, the audio captures multiple witnesses contacting emergency services from a Charlotte train station in August following the fatal stabbing of Iryna.
The incident, which was recorded on video and released to the public, has sparked widespread outrage and sorrow over the senseless violence that led to Iryna’s tragic death.
One of the 911 callers immediately informs the dispatcher of the extensive bloodshed and expresses a grim belief that Iryna may have already passed away.
The caller mentions efforts to apply pressure to the wound and the presence of police officers attempting to assist Iryna, indicating the chaotic scene that unfolded after the stabbing.
Another caller sadly proclaims the woman’s demise before spotting DeCarlos Brown, the suspect, standing nearby on a different platform following the tragic event.
Brown was swiftly arrested and federally charged with causing death on a mass transportation system in connection to Iryna’s murder.

Footage from the incident allegedly shows Brown, wearing a red hoodie, brandishing a knife and attacking Iryna as she sat in front of him on the train. He then walks through the carriage with the weapon, leaving shocked onlookers in his wake.
Originally from Ukraine, Iryna moved to the U.S. in 2022 amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia, with aspirations of pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
In contrast, Brown had a history of prior arrests before the tragic incident involving Zarutska. His mother has publicly disclosed his struggles with mental health issues.
President Donald Trump has advocated for the possibility of Brown facing the death penalty if he is found guilty of the crime.
