LA Crips leader Eugene ‘Big U’ Henley’s son Jabari Henley shot dead in Los Angeles shooting

The tragic shooting of Jabari “Baby Uiie” Henley, the son of Eugene Henley Jr., a prominent LA Crips leader and music mogul, has sent shockwaves through South Los Angeles. The incident occurred on Friday night outside a smoke shop at the corner of 69th Street and Figueroa Street. Henley, 34, was approached by a gunman who opened fire, resulting in his untimely death. Despite the efforts of first responders, Henley could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect responsible for the shooting fled the area and is currently at large. Henley’s older brother, Daiyan Henley, who plays for the Los Angeles Chargers, is now grappling with the loss of his sibling. This heartbreaking event comes on the heels of Eugene Henley Jr.’s legal troubles earlier this year. The former head of the Rollin’ 60’s Neighborhood Crips was arrested for his alleged involvement in a criminal enterprise that encompassed murder, human trafficking, robbery, and extortion in Los Angeles.

The federal indictment against Henley Jr. and 17 others shed light on the extent of the criminal activities orchestrated by the so-called “Big U Enterprise.” The charges included felonies, tax evasion, and embezzlement from a charity operated by Henley Jr. The indictment paints a grim picture of a criminal empire led by Henley Jr., who is also a suspect in the murder of aspiring musician Rayshawn Williams. Williams, who was signed to Henley Jr.’s record label, was killed after recording a song that allegedly defamed the music mogul.

The indictment also implicated music mogul Termaine Ashley Williams, known as “Luce Cannon,” who is currently incarcerated in connection with the racketeering charges. The news of Henley’s death was reportedly delivered to Henley Jr. and Williams while they were behind bars, adding another layer of tragedy to the situation. Williams suspects that Henley knew his assailant, but the LAPD has not confirmed if the shooting was gang-related.

The loss of Jabari Henley has left a void in the community and serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing violence and criminal activities that plague some neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The investigation into his death continues, with authorities working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice. Our thoughts are with the Henley family and all those affected by this senseless act of violence.
