Kim Kardashian’s ‘All’s Fair’ Receives Zero-Star Review, Bad Reactions
The latest legal drama from renowned creator Ryan Murphy, “All’s Fair,” has been met with scathing reviews from critics and TV journalists alike. Starring Kim Kardashian alongside a stellar cast including Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close, the series follows a group of female divorce attorneys in Los Angeles as they navigate the complexities of high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets, and shifting allegiances both in and out of the courtroom.
In a scathing review from The Times, deputy TV editor Ben Dowell labeled the show as potentially the worst television drama ever made. He criticized the series for its misguided attempt at feminist storytelling, ultimately branding it as a tacky and revolting portrayal of greed and vanity. Similarly, Guardian TV critic Lucy Mangan gave the show a zero-star rating, describing it as “existentially terrible” and questioning how a production of such low quality could have been created.
The performances in “All’s Fair,” particularly Kardashian’s portrayal of divorce attorney Allura Grant, have come under fire from reviewers. The Telegraph’s Ed Power highlighted Kardashian’s stilted acting and lack of screen presence, attributing these shortcomings to the overall disaster zone of the show. Dowell echoed these sentiments, stating that Kardashian’s performance did not convince viewers of her character’s credibility as a lawyer.
Despite the negative reception, “All’s Fair” marks Kardashian’s second collaboration with Murphy, following her appearance in the 12th season of “American Horror Story.” As an executive producer on the legal drama, Kardashian has been heavily involved in the production of the series.
Critics have drawn parallels between “All’s Fair” and the Kardashian family’s reality TV empire, with Glamour editor Emily Maddick likening the show to an episode of “The Kardashians.” She criticized the series for promoting an aspirational lifestyle dictated by the Kardashian-Jenner clan, which she believes has infiltrated Murphy’s typically diverse and award-winning portfolio.
New episodes of “All’s Fair” are set to stream every Tuesday on Hulu and Disney+, allowing viewers to form their own opinions on the controversial legal drama.
