Turkey-registered plane crashes in Croatia reportedly killing the pilot
A tragic incident occurred in western Croatia when a Turkey-registered plane crashed, resulting in the pilot’s death, according to local authorities.
The Air Tractor AT-802 disappeared from radar screens around 5 p.m. local time, with reports of the aircraft catching fire near Senj, a town along the Adriatic Sea coastline.
Authorities revealed that the plane was en route from Rijeka to Zagreb before the unfortunate accident occurred.
Limited information is currently available about the crash, but Air Tractor AT-802 planes are commonly utilized for agricultural purposes or firefighting missions.
Croatia’s HRT public broadcaster disclosed that the aircraft belonged to Turkey’s forestry administration, and the pilot’s body was discovered by rescue teams following the fire containment efforts. Fortunately, no other individuals were onboard the plane at the time of the incident.
