Prince Night Semifinals Hits New Highs

The latest episode of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 34 has set a new record with its Prince-themed semifinals episode. Drawing in 7.22 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49, the episode became the highest-watched semifinals episode in seven years.

The interest in the show has been steadily growing, with a 28% increase in viewers compared to last season. The episode also saw a significant rise in ratings among younger viewers, with a 1.68 rating among adults 18-34, the best delivery in the younger demo in 10 years. Fan voting reached a new high of 55.9 million votes, showcasing the dedication of the show’s fanbase.

The semifinals episode also featured a surprise appearance by Zac Efron in the audience, showing support for his brother, Dylan Efron. However, the night ended in a shock as Whitney Carson and Mark Ballas were eliminated, sending Dylan and partner Daniella Karagach to the finale along with other remaining couples.

The finale of “Dancing With the Stars,” produced by BBC Studios, is set to air on Tuesday, November 25. This season’s finale will see the final five couples each performing three times for the first time ever, including a judges’ choice dance, an instant dance, and a freestyle routine.

The success of this season has been evident since its premiere in September, with a 49% ratings bump from the previous year and a significant increase in premiere voting. The show airs on Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+ at 8 p.m. ET and is available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
