Donald Glover Reveals Health Scare: Had a Stroke and Heart Surgery
Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, recently opened up about a serious health scare that led him to cancel his tour last year. Initially described as an “ailment,” Glover disclosed during a performance at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles that he had actually suffered a stroke.
Glover, 42, shared with the audience how he experienced severe head pain while in Louisiana but still went on to perform. It wasn’t until he reached Houston that he sought medical attention and was informed by a doctor that he had indeed suffered a stroke.
Feeling a sense of guilt for letting his fans down, Glover expressed his disappointment at not being able to visit Ireland as planned. He also mentioned that doctors discovered a hole in his heart, which required him to undergo two surgeries.
Reflecting on the experience, Glover shared a poignant message with his fans, saying, “They say everybody has two lives and the second life starts when you realize you have one. You got one life, guys, and I gotta be honest, the life I’ve lived with you guys has been such a blessing.”
Despite the gravity of his health scare, Glover’s representatives have not yet provided any additional comments on the matter.
