Muddy Waters Capital’s Carson Block makes rare long call in Canadian miner Snowline Gold

Carson Block, the renowned short-seller from Muddy Waters Capital, made a surprising shift in his investment strategy at the Sohn London Investment Conference. Instead of targeting companies for short-selling campaigns, Block took a bullish stance on junior miner Snowline Gold, identifying it as a top takeover candidate in the mining sector.

Snowline Gold, with a market value of approximately C$2.1 billion, has made a groundbreaking discovery in Canada’s Yukon territory. Block described this discovery as “first-of-its-kind” in an area with immense geological potential. The company holds a significant land package in an emerging district that could potentially become a new multi-deposit gold camp.

The focal point of Snowline’s potential is the Valley deposit within the Rogue project, estimated to contain 8 million ounces of gold in the measured and indicated category at an average grade of 1.21 grams per ton. Block emphasized that Valley is likely the asset that will attract interest from major gold producers facing diminishing reserves.

In his presentation, Block highlighted Snowline as “an elephant” in the mining industry, predicting that the company will be acquired within the next three years.
