Sabrina Carpenter Slams White House’s ‘Evil’ ICE Video Using Her Song

Sabrina Carpenter, the 26-year-old singer, recently took to social media to express her disapproval after one of her songs was used in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation video by President Donald Trump’s White House. In a statement on Tuesday, December 2, Carpenter condemned the video, calling it “evil and disgusting” and emphasized that she does not want her music to be associated with any inhumane agendas.

The White House had posted a video featuring images of ICE officers detaining individuals believed to be “dangerous” criminals residing in the U.S. without proper authorization, with Carpenter’s song “Juno” playing in the background. In response to Carpenter’s criticism, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson defended the video, stating that they will not apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal immigrants from the country.

It is worth noting that according to the Cato Institute, the vast majority of individuals detained in ICE detention centers have not been convicted of violent crimes, and many have no criminal convictions at all. Carpenter’s post came shortly after she concluded the U.S. leg of her “Short n’ Sweet” tour, which raised over $1.5 million for organizations like The Jed Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, and Trans Law Center, while also aiding in registering thousands of new voters with HeadCount.

The singer is set to headline the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, in April 2026. Carpenter is not the only celebrity to object to their music being associated with Trump’s administration. Artists like Kenny Loggins, Beyoncé, ABBA, Foo Fighters, Olivia Rodrigo, and others have also demanded that the president stop using their music at events or in videos.

On the other hand, country singer Kid Rock has expressed support for Trump’s music choices in the past, praising the playlist played at campaign rallies and events. Despite the differing opinions among celebrities, it is clear that artists like Sabrina Carpenter are determined to uphold their values and ensure that their music is not used to promote agendas that they do not stand for.
