New Denver restaurant to open in former Fruition space
The Rise of Chef Quincy Cherrett and Madeline
The culinary scene in Denver is about to witness a new chapter as Quincy Cherrett, the executive chef at Izakaya Den and Sushi Den, steps into the spotlight with his latest venture, Madeline. Named after his newborn niece, Madeline promises to bring a fresh take on “technique-driven, seasonal cooking” to the former Fruition space along Sixth Avenue in the Country Club neighborhood.
Cherrett recently took over the lease for the 1,100 square feet space previously occupied by Fruition, a beloved fine-dining establishment founded by Alex Seidel in 2007. While honoring the legacy of Fruition, Cherrett aims to create a dining experience that is uniquely his own, focusing on ingredient integrity, thoughtful cooking, and a welcoming ambiance.
Although the menu at Madeline is still in the works, patrons can expect seasonal rotating handmade pastas, seared halibut with fresh green curry, and a selection of ingredient-driven cocktails and wines by the glass. The interior design of the restaurant is being curated by Kevin Nguyen of Regular Architecture.
Prior to his current role at Izakaya Den and Sushi Den, Cherrett honed his culinary skills at local establishments such as Death & Co and Colt & Gray. His journey in the culinary world began at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, where he studied from 2008 to 2010.
Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Cherrett made a mark with his food truck, 22 Provisions, serving East Coast-style sandwiches. Following its closure, he ventured into the bistro scene with Eloise at Avanti, showcasing his versatility and passion for innovative cuisine.
