Guy Burnet on Charlie and Rebecca’s ‘Naked’ Bedroom Scene
SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers from Season 2, Episode 6 of "Landman," titled "Dark Night of the Soul," which aired on Paramount+.
Guy Burnet may have only appeared in two episodes of "Landman," but his portrayal of Charlie has already left a lasting impression on viewers.
In the show, Burnet’s character, Charlie, is a geologist at M-Tex who shares a one-night stand with Rebecca, played by Kayla Wallace. However, the twist comes when Rebecca discovers that they are both employed by M-Tex, with her being technically senior to him, which breaks corporate rules. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and Burnet credits his co-star Wallace for bringing that spark to their scenes.
In an interview with Variety, Burnet shared, "I think the secret behind it is having two people who are game to do something more, to elevate something. Kayla and I have a real protectiveness of each other, and we bring that chemistry to the characters and let that be natural."
Despite the challenges of being emotionally vulnerable in his first episodes, Burnet also had to showcase his physical vulnerability in intimate scenes with Wallace. Reflecting on this, Burnet admitted, "Let’s be honest, I’m not Chris Hemsworth. Do I work out? Yeah, I train, and I box, but I’m not a lot like those guys, so whatever. I got to give up at some point and go, ‘All right, this is me.’ The character is happy-go-lucky, and he just gets lucky. She’s out of his league."
As the season progresses, viewers can expect to see more of Burnet’s character development. Burnet teased, "There’s obviously a very strong chemistry that Rebecca and Charlie have. I think that develops both of their characters. So it’s naturally gonna transition from just their bubble into the greater scheme of things."
Outside of his role on "Landman," Burnet has found a strong support system in his good friend and "Landman" superfan, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Burnet shared, "Arnold is such a special person. He’s saved me in situations — when I needed somebody, he was there. He checks in on me all the time. He believes in me more than nearly anyone I’ve ever come across."
As Burnet’s character continues to evolve on "Landman," fans can look forward to seeing more of his dynamic with Rebecca and how it impacts the larger narrative of the show. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s unwavering support only adds to Burnet’s excitement for what lies ahead in his acting career.
