Zachery Ty Bryan Faces Full Sentence for 3 Probation Violations
Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role in the popular TV show Home Improvement, is facing a full sentence after violating probation multiple times. The 44-year-old actor appeared in an Oregon court on December 29 and admitted to the violations. According to ABC News affiliate station KEZI, Bryan will be sentenced on February 17.
Bryan was convicted of domestic violence in Lane County in 2023 and was given three years of probation instead of up to 20 months in prison. His probation officer is now seeking a full sentence for the actor. Bryan has been arrested several times over the past 26 months, including three DUI arrests and two out-of-state incidents that violated his travel ban. In early 2025, he was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, in South Carolina.
Both Bryan and Cartwright were arrested last month in the Fall Creek area of Oregon. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office stated that Bryan and Cartwright were driving with their three children when an incident occurred, resulting in Cartwright attempting to run over Bryan with the vehicle.
