‘Culinary Class Wars’ Renewed for at Netflix With Team-Based Format

Netflix has officially announced the renewal of the popular Korean cooking competition show, “Culinary Class Wars,” for a third season. However, this new season will come with a major format change that is bound to shake things up. Instead of individual chef battles, the competition will now focus on restaurant team showdowns.

The upcoming season will feature four-person teams representing a single establishment, turning the competition into a collective challenge where entire kitchens will compete for pride and reputation, rather than individual culinary skills. This structural pivot is expected to bring a fresh and exciting dynamic to the show.

Chef applications for Season 3 are now open through Netflix Korea’s social channels. Only four-person teams currently employed at the same restaurant are eligible to apply. Individual submissions and cross-restaurant lineups will not be accepted, although restaurants operating under the same brand across multiple locations may enter as a unified team.

“Culinary Class Wars” has been a consistent performer in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV rankings for the past two years. Season 2 was particularly praised for its intense competition, innovative rule structures, and high stakes, all while retaining the essence of the show that fans have come to love.

Studio Slam will once again produce Season 3, with the original creative team, including producer Kim Eun-ji and writer Mo Eun-seol, at the helm. Their expertise has been instrumental in shaping the series’ success and they are determined to deliver an even more exciting format and entertainment for the upcoming season.

Kim expressed her gratitude for the support from viewers worldwide, stating, “Thanks to the incredible support from viewers around the world through Season 2, we’re grateful to move forward with Season 3. We’ll do our best to deliver an even more exciting format and entertainment that lives up to expectations.”

The first season of “Culinary Class Wars” was credited with revitalizing Seoul’s dining scene, leading to increased restaurant bookings and a renewed interest in the city’s culinary talent. The upcoming season is expected to continue this trend and showcase the best of Korean cuisine on a global stage.
