Kenan Thompson, the renowned ‘SNL’ star, is currently facing a legal battle with his landlord over allegations of breaching a lease agreement for a 3-bedroom rental property in Los Angeles. According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the landlord claims that Kenan owes over $34,000 for breaking the 12-month lease.

The dispute stems from a written lease agreement that was signed in September, with the lease officially commencing on October 1. Kenan had agreed to pay $10,250 in rent for a year, after which the lease would transition to a month-to-month basis.

However, the landlord alleges that Kenan failed to uphold his end of the agreement by not paying rent for November and December, resulting in unpaid rent totaling $17,425. Additionally, the landlord encountered difficulties in finding a replacement tenant and had to settle for a reduced rent, holding Kenan responsible for the shortfall amounting to $15,750 over the lease period.

Furthermore, the lawsuit includes claims for an $871 late fee, a $9,594 broker fee, and $1,000 in legal fees recoverable under the lease. After factoring in the $10,250 security deposit paid by Kenan, the total amount demanded by the landlord sums up to $34,390.

Kenan’s camp has been reached out to for a response, but as of now, there has been no comment from their end regarding the ongoing legal proceedings.
