‘Sinners’ and ‘Frankenstein’ Lead Makeup and Hairstylist Awards Winners
The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE Local 706) Awards recently honored the top achievements in the world of make-up and hair styling in the entertainment industry. The event, held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, saw the recognition of outstanding work in feature motion pictures, television series, theatrical productions, commercials, and music videos.
Among the winners in the Feature Motion Pictures category were “Sinners,” “Frankenstein,” and “One Battle After Another.” “One Battle After Another” received awards for best contemporary make-up and best contemporary hair styling, while “Sinners” took home awards for best period and/or character make-up and best period and/or character hair styling.
The Television series winners included “The Studio,” “Palm Royale,” “Stranger Things: Season 5,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Dancing with the Stars,” and “Skeleton Crew.” The awards showcased the talent and creativity of make-up artists and hair stylists across various genres of entertainment.
The event also featured special awards such as the Distinguished Artisan Award presented to Amy Madigan for her contribution to the industry. The Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Greg Nelson for Make-Up and Judy Alexander Cory for Hair Stylists. These awards recognized the exemplary careers and contributions of these talented artists.
The evening was hosted by Rachael Harris, with Frankie Grande hosting the “Live from the Red Carpet” pre-show livestream. The event highlighted the importance of the work done by make-up artists and hair stylists in bringing stories to life on screen.
