‘Palm Royale’ Canceled at Apple TV After Two Seasons
Apple TV has announced the cancellation of the Kristen Wiig-led series “Palm Royale” after two successful seasons. The high-society dramedy, created by Abe Sylvia, premiered in 2024 and followed Wiig’s character, Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons, as she navigated the exclusive world of 1960’s Palm Beach.
The show featured a star-studded cast including Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Charade Robinson, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Kaia Gerber, and Carol Burnett. Loosely adapted from Juliet McDaniel’s novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie,” the series received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations.
“Palm Royale” Season 1 received 11 Emmy nominations, with Wiig and Burnett both earning nods for their performances. The show also won an Emmy for outstanding original main title theme music. In Season 2, Wiig’s character faces a scandal that leaves her ostracized from society, forcing her to rely on her wit and cunning to reclaim her place in Palm Beach.
Creator Abe Sylvia served as writer, showrunner, and executive producer for the series, with support from executive producers Laura Dern, Jayme Lemons, Katie O’Connell Marsh, and others. The official logline for Season 2 promises a deeper exploration of the town’s secrets, lies, and occasional felonies.
Despite its critical success, Apple TV has decided to end “Palm Royale” after two seasons. Fans of the show will have to say goodbye to Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons and her journey to the top of Palm Beach society.
