Pete Hegseth’s ‘Politically Correct Wars’ Rant Has People Asking 1 Big Question
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sparked controversy and ridicule on Thursday with his remarks on the war with Iran. During a news conference in Tampa, Hegseth criticized what he referred to as the “dumb, politically correct wars of the past,” emphasizing that the U.S.-Israeli military operations’ timeline is under American control.
He proudly stated, “The dumb, politically correct wars of the past were the opposite of what we’re doing here,” highlighting previous conflicts’ ambiguous objectives and restrictive rules of engagement.
Asserting a new approach, Hegseth declared, “No more.”
Furthermore, Hegseth boasted about the immense scale of U.S. military power in the conflict, asserting, “We set the tempo. We set the timeline.” However, this statement was met with skepticism on social media, with some users expressing concerns about getting entangled in another never-ending war.
Critics questioned the concept of a politically correct war and accused Hegseth of using slogans and empty rhetoric in his speech.
