Kansas City International Airport Evacuated Due to Potential Threat

Authorities in Kansas City International Airport were forced to evacuate portions of the terminal on Sunday afternoon following reports of a potential threat, according to the Kansas City Aviation Department.

Airport spokesperson Jackson Overstreet stated that the threat was first reported at 11:15 a.m. local time, prompting the evacuation of the entire terminal. Flights that had already landed were held on the taxiway as a precaution.

FBI spokesperson Dixon Land confirmed that the FBI was aware of the incident and was collaborating with airport and law enforcement officials to assess the credibility of the threat.

Passenger Logan Hawley, 29, recounted his experience while waiting to board a flight to Texas. He described seeing a large presence of police and K9 units inside the terminal before an airport worker ordered an immediate evacuation, causing a swift exit of passengers from the area.

Approximately 2,000 individuals were directed onto the tarmac as part of the evacuation process.

The situation at Kansas City International Airport remains ongoing as authorities continue to investigate the nature of the threat and ensure the safety of all passengers and personnel.
