‘Sinners’ and ‘The Pitt’ Take Home Top Honors at ICG Publicists Awards
The 63rd annual International Cinematographers Guild Publicists Awards luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel was a star-studded event, with the publicity campaigns for “Sinners” and “The Pitt” taking the top honors. The ceremony, which honors individual publicists and unit still photographers who contribute to publicity campaigns for film and TV, as well as entertainment journalists, was a celebration of the industry’s best and brightest.
Variety’s senior entertainment reporter Angelique Jackson and senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay were nominated in the Press Award category by the ICG. Cynthia Swartz was awarded the Bob Yeager Award for Community Service, and Pamela Golum received the Henri Bollinger Award for Special Merit.
One of the highlights of the event was Jimmy Kimmel being presented with the President’s Award. Kimmel, known for his wit and humor, joked about initially thinking the award was from the President of the United States instead of the Guild’s president. He thanked the publicists and the guild for their support, dedicating the award to those who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
Filmmakers and actors Noah Wyle and Kate Hudson were recognized with the Television Showperson of the Year and Motion Picture Showperson of the Year awards, respectively, for their outstanding contributions to the industry.
The winners of the Maxwell Weinberg Award for Motion Picture Publicity Campaign included films such as “28 Years Later,” “The Housemaid,” and “Sinners” from Warner Bros. Pictures. The Maxwell Weinberg Award for Television Publicity Campaign went to “The Pitt” from Warner Bros. Television/HBO.
Other notable winners included Chrissy Quesada for the Les Mason Award for Career Achievement in Publicity, Michelle Alt for Publicist of the Year Award, and Ali Plumb for the International Media Award.
Overall, the event was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of those in the industry who help bring films and TV shows to the public eye.
