Donald Trump caused a stir and sparked laughter when he suggested that Venezuela could potentially become the 51st state of the United States.

Following Venezuela’s impressive 4-2 victory over Italy in the World Baseball Classic semifinal, the president took to his Truth Social platform to share his thoughts.

This is not the first time Trump has floated the idea of incorporating other territories into the United States, including Greenland and Canada.

In a bold move earlier this year, a U.S. military operation led to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who is now facing cocaine-trafficking conspiracy charges in New York.

Venezuela is now gearing up to face the United States in the World Baseball Classic final in Miami tomorrow.
