Nancy Guthrie abductor likely had as many as four accomplices, retired Pima county detective says

Retired Detective Believes Nancy Guthrie’s Kidnapping Was Premeditated

A retired Pima County Sheriff detective, Kurt Dabb, has suggested that Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping was a premeditated act that involved two to four accomplices. Dabb, who previously worked with the agency now leading the search for the missing 84-year-old matriarch, shared his insights with Parade magazine.

According to Dabb, a high-profile abduction like Guthrie’s would require more individuals than just the masked, armed man captured on her doorbell camera the night she disappeared. “I believe there are anywhere between two to four accomplices,” he stated, hinting at a coordinated effort behind the incident.

Furthermore, Dabb emphasized that the logistics involved in such a significant operation would be too much for a lone individual to handle. He speculated that the home may have been surveilled prior to the abduction, indicating a level of planning and reconnaissance by the perpetrators.

Contrary to the initial assumption of a botched robbery, Dabb and other law enforcement experts believe that Guthrie’s disappearance was a targeted kidnapping. The presence of a backpack on the suspect in the front door footage led Dabb to conclude that this was not a random burglary but a carefully orchestrated abduction.
