Couple charged with defacing GOP office with swastikas, mocking dead conservative commentator

An Arlington Heights couple, Brock McNerney and Moisette McNerney, both in their 70s, have been charged in connection with the vandalism of a Republican political office in the northwest suburb. The vandalism included graffiti featuring swastikas, obscenities, and mocking references to slain conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

The couple, residents of the 1200 block of East Clarendon Avenue in Arlington Heights, were taken into custody and charged with two misdemeanor offenses. They were later released pending their initial court appearance. The Arlington Heights Police Department identified the pair as the individuals responsible for vandalizing the Republicans of Wheeling Township office at 909 East Rand Road late on January 25. Surveillance video captured two people using markers to deface the office windows with offensive symbols and language around 10:51 p.m.

Upon arrival, Arlington Heights Police Chief Nicholas Pecora documented profanity written in black ink, several Nazi symbols, and what appeared to be feces and an unknown liquid on the walkway leading to the office door. John Saletta, the deputy Republican committeeman for Wheeling Township, revealed that this incident was the second targeting of the office. The first occurred in December, where derogatory statements mocking Charlie Kirk were written on the building’s exterior brick.

The organization decided to install security cameras following the initial incident. Saletta expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance and cooperation in providing information during the investigation.
